-Good and Evil—Luke 6:45; Romans 12:9

“Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good.” (Romans. 12:9)
“Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!” (Isaiah 5:20)

I. Love does not rejoice in wrongdoing—Love does not delight in evil; love takes no pleasure in doing wrong or supporting wrong.

-Love is not excited about evil itself—Romans 12:9

*Is there some evil that you are calling good to justify your choices?

-Love is not excited about wanting others to sin—Proverbs 1:10-18

*Are you tempting others to sin? Are you allowing others to tempt you to sin? What changes do you need to make to avoid rejoicing in wrong?
-Love does not spread sin
*Do you brag about your sin? Do you blab about others sin?

II. Love rejoices in the truth—Love finds pleasure in truth.

-Love desires truth—Psalm 1:1-2

*Do you delight in truth? How does your delight in truth show in your life?

-Love speaks truth—Ephesians 4:15

What happens if we continue to keep records of others wrongs refusing to forgive?

Conclusion—As you examine your life are you abhorring evil and rejoicing in truth? Where do you need to repent of rejoicing in evil? Where do you need to repent of neglecting the truth?

Only in Christ are we be made New Creations who are capable of loving this way.
